I work part time at Two hands Tattoo and Andrew is a tradesmen. Our dream occupations would be running a farm full of chickens and goats when we settle in California.

We met through Instagram and fell in love. I went to LA to meet him, he proposed to me at the Madonna Inn. It was a whirlwind romance and since then we have been inseparable.

Our joint ‘Hags’ night was the weekend before at Judas Priest which was the perfect way to start off our wedding. My mum is sick so we decided to have it sooner than we expected. I had hundreds of crazy ideas but because of the time frame and budget we kept the wedding very intimate and easy. We decided on the Tudor Garden at the Hamilton Gardens. My grandparents got married in Hamilton. We were both drawn to the statue of Pan (Greek god of nature) in the garden and wanted a Pagan wedding so Pan fit perfectly. As well as the garden being a 16th-century-style garden featuring geometric topiaries & whimsical beasts on striped poles. It was a fairytale dream. I knew I wanted a very feminine, romantic, white, asymmetrical-ruffle dress, my friend Benjamin Alexander worked with me and made the dress. A very sheer dress covered in small diamonds, I had a matador headband made which was a nod to the Tudor look. That held in place my long tulle veil, topped off by a pair of red thigh-high vinyl boots. Andrew wore a black vintage western shirt a Motörhead bolo tie and cowboy boots. I had three beautiful bridesmaids, two in black and my maid of honour Kimberly wore red. She walked down the aisle with me, which I really needed to calm my nerves. Georgie at Green Point florist made us the perfect baby’s breath bouquets. We had the best celebrant, Scott Phillips from Married With Metal, who help us so much and he really understood our vision. He helped us adding in Handfasting and other pagan rituals into the ceremony. As I walked into the garden my friend Nathan Haines incorporated the Bathory song - Ring of Gold, A beautiful Viking folk song with him playing his Rudall, Carte 1814 flute. It was haunting and perfect. My friend Lucy from LL Furniture kindly helped with her beautiful ghost chairs, which were placed in front of Pan down the aisle. The ceremony was short but had everything we needed. After the ceremony we had our stunning Caker cake and bubbles in the garden, then headed to the pub to party the night away. The whole process was stressful with the lack of time and budget. But with love and friendship everyone pulled together for an amazing day.

I know and love the Caker so much I trusted in them to make me the dream wedding cake. I choose the completely naked two tier, lemon and raspberry cake with pink icing and fruit, I asked them to incorporate the babies breath.

Having our loved ones in one place. Even though people from overseas couldn’t make it I know they were all there for us. Just feeling loved made for a special day.

Don’t plan a wedding in only a few months. It turned out amazing but geez it was stressful. Make sure you get everyone to help you. Take a step back and really think about the decisions you make. Most of all just have fun. So much pressure is put on one day, things are always going to go wrong. You don’t have to spend 1000s to have the day of your dreams.
